Why This Recipe Is So Loved

This dish offers a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors that make each bite exciting. It’s easy to prepare and packs a lot of taste without needing complicated ingredients. Plus, baking keeps the chicken juicy and tender.

Cooking Advice

- Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes to deepen the flavors.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches 165°F for safe eating.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking to keep it moist.

Step 1

Warm your oven to 425°F (220°C). Pour some olive oil into a bowl and use it to lightly coat both sides of each chicken breast—set them aside once they're covered. Pour the rest of the olive oil into a 9x13-inch glass baking dish, then stir in 2 tablespoons of sweet hot mustard.

Step 2

Spread about a tablespoon of that mustard mixture on one side of each chicken breast. Sprinkle them with garlic and herb seasoning and a bit of pepper. Place the chicken in the baking dish with the mustard-coated side down. Flip the breasts over and season the other side as well.

Step 3

Scatter chopped onions and garlic around the chicken in the dish, and don’t forget to toss any leftover pieces on top. Pop the dish into the oven and bake until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside, roughly 30 minutes. To be sure, check that the internal temperature hits 165°F (74°C).

Step 4

Once it’s done, cover the dish loosely with foil and let the chicken rest for about 10 minutes before serving. This helps keep it juicy and flavorful!

Serving Guide

Pair this chicken with a simple side like steamed rice or roasted vegetables to complement the bold flavors. A fresh green salad with a light vinaigrette also works well to balance the heat and sweetness.

Reheating And Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave to keep the chicken from drying out. You can also freeze cooked pieces for up to 2 months.

Sweet and spicy hit the spot! Not too overpowering, and the chicken stayed juicy. Made it twice already with same great results.
