Why This Dish Is Worth Trying
Pro Cooking Tips
- Let the meat mixture rest before baking to help it hold together better.
- Avoid overmixing the ingredients to keep the texture tender.
Step 1
Warm your oven to 350°F (175°C). While that’s warming up, mix the vegetable juice, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until it thickens into a nice glaze.
Step 2
In a big bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, ranch dressing mix, sage, salt, and pepper. Slowly add the bread crumbs, stirring as you go so everything blends evenly. Then, toss in the egg and milk and mix everything together until just combined.
Step 3
Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan. Pour about half of that tasty sauce over the top. Pop it in the oven and bake for around an hour, or until the meatloaf isn’t pink in the middle. If you have a meat thermometer, it should read 160°F (70°C) when it’s done.
Step 4
Once it’s out of the oven, slice the meatloaf into six pieces and spoon the rest of the sauce over each slice before serving. Enjoy!
