What Makes This Recipe So Good

This dish combines tender, flavorful beef ribs with a sweet and savory marinade that melts in your mouth. The balance of soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil creates a rich taste that’s both comforting and exciting. It’s perfect for sharing with family or friends at any gathering.

Cooking Hints

- Marinate the ribs for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to enhance the flavor and tenderness.
- Grill over medium heat to prevent burning while ensuring the meat cooks evenly.
- Baste the ribs occasionally with leftover marinade for extra juiciness and flavor.

Directions

Soak the ribs in a big bowl of water for about an hour. Once they’ve soaked, drain them and put them back in the bowl. Next, toss the Asian pear, onion, kiwi, and garlic into a food processor and blend until smooth. Pour that puree into a bowl, then mix in the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, and a bit of black pepper. Pour this marinade over the ribs, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and pop it in the fridge. Let it marinate for at least 8 hours, or even overnight, turning the ribs once halfway through to make sure they soak up all the flavor. When you’re ready to cook, strain out the marinade and discard it. Heat your grill to medium and give the grates a light oiling to keep things from sticking. Grill the ribs for about 8 minutes on each side, until they’re nicely crispy on the outside and cooked through.

Great Ways To Serve

Serve with steamed white rice and a variety of Korean side dishes like kimchi, pickled radish, and seasoned spinach. Adding fresh lettuce leaves allows guests to make wraps with the ribs, rice, and sauces for a fun and interactive meal.

How To Refrigerate This Dish

Store leftover ribs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or on the stovetop to keep the meat tender. For longer storage, freeze the ribs wrapped tightly in foil or plastic wrap for up to 2 months.

The marinade was rich and balanced. I did a little extra caramelizing on the ribs, which made them perfect.
