Why This Recipe Is So Easy To Love

A warm and comforting breakfast that comes together quickly. It uses simple, wholesome ingredients and is naturally sweetened with apples and cinnamon. Plus, the Instant Pot® makes it easy to enjoy nutritious steel-cut oats without standing over the stove.

Cooking Tips You Should Know

- Rinse the steel-cut oats before cooking to remove excess starch and prevent clumping.
- Use fresh, crisp apples for the best texture and flavor.
- If you prefer a creamier texture, stir in a splash of plant-based milk after cooking.

Directions

Ad the water, almond milk, steel-cut oats, maple syrup, flax seed meal, chopped apple, cinnamon, and almonds to your Instant Pot. Give everything a good stir to combine. Secure the lid and make sure it’s locked in place. Set the pressure cooker to high pressure and cook for 10 minutes. It will take about 10 minutes for the pot to come up to pressure before the timer starts. Once the cooking time is up, let the pressure release naturally — this usually takes around 10 to 15 minutes. When the steam has fully released, carefully open the lid. Give the oats a good stir to mix everything well, then serve right away while it’s warm and comforting.

How To Plate This Dish

Top the oats with chopped nuts, a drizzle of maple syrup, or a dollop of your favorite vegan yogurt. Fresh fruit like berries or sliced bananas also pairs nicely. For extra crunch, sprinkle some toasted seeds or granola on top.

How To Preserve This Dish

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, adding a splash of plant-based milk to loosen the texture if needed. This oatmeal also freezes well—portion into freezer-safe containers for quick breakfasts later.
