Why This Dish Is So Special

These beans are packed with smoky, savory flavors that bring a taste of the backyard barbecue right to your table. They are hearty, comforting, and perfect for sharing with friends and family.

Practical Cooking Tips

- Use low and slow heat to let the flavors fully develop.
- Stir occasionally to prevent the beans from sticking to the pot.
- Adjust the seasoning at the end to suit your taste.

Directions

Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up and stirring occasionally until it’s nicely browned. Once cooked, drain any excess fat. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, until the onion softens and becomes translucent. Sprinkle in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley, then give everything a good stir and cook for another minute or two to let the spices bloom. Next, pour in the canned beans and mix them well with the beef. Stir in the mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and barbecue sauce until everything is combined. Give it a taste and adjust the seasoning with a little more salt or pepper if you think it needs it. Lower the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer gently for about 30 minutes so all the flavors can meld together.

Serving Inspiration

Serve these beans alongside grilled meats, cornbread, or a fresh green salad. They also make a great filling for baked potatoes or a tasty topping for nachos.

Storing Food Safely

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, adding a splash of water if needed to keep them moist.

Flavor was spot on but I’d reduce sugar next time. The texture was thick and nice though, great for a quick meal.

Pretty tasty, though I think a bit more seasoning would kick it up. Good for a quick dinner side.
